"Video: Back it up.""Marijuanaman" Ziggy Marley has released his comic book entitled " Marijuanaman".The comic was released by Image Comics, one of the largest comic-books publishers in North America, on April 20, 2011. Illustrations were done by Jim Mahfood, written by Joe Casey, but the concept is inspired by Marley. In this comic-book, Marley has combined his love for comics and the need to educate the world on the many uses of the marijuana plant, hence the comic name "Marijuanaman". Marley is curious as to why the plant is not being used as a natural resource for the making of nutritional products, clothing amongst other things. Marley has learnt a lot about the marijuana plant and wants to tell of its many uses in an entertaining way. This, he said will actually help to educate people and crush the negatives views of the plant. The book is geared towards the adult audience, with a strong message and beautiful artwork. It has been getting great responses. The theme is about a figure or hero, who comes from a planet which is severely environmentally damaged. Marijuanaman was sent by his people to find a solution to their problem. He lands on another planet in a marijuana field to which he felt an instant connection to the plant. He was welcomed and adopted by the community on the planet and finds himself in conflict with a pharmaceutical company that wants to destroy all the marijuana. He has to fight the pharmaceutical company while still trying to save his home planet. Marley is one of the firm believer that marijuana should be legalize. The comic does not aim at telling people to smoke the herb. Be on the look out for other series as this might not be his last in the line of "Marijuanaman".
